Commercial Projects
Color Design: We frequently work on commercial buildings, schools, and churches. Our scope encompasses color and architectural materials specification over a very broad range of topics. Typically, we meet with project architects early in the design process and track projects through to completion, with ongoing architectural design review and site visits, as necessary, to focus on details of transitions between planes and colors.
Finishing: We have devised and calibrated finishing systems for retail, hospitality, and restaurant contexts. The systems take the form of proprietary colors, metallics, and patina coatings, which we apply in our spray booth facility in Emeryville. Where necessary, we do onsite applications.
RH Projects
We have been working with the gallery development division of RH (formerly Restoration Hardware) since 2009. Since then, we have developed numerous proprietary colors and finishing systems specifically for RH interiors and exteriors. Among these are finishing processes for patinating and weathering natural wood, steel, and brass elements, concrete floors, color-integral stucco and cast stone. Our stain-and-glaze system for their oak millwork is still an active element in new galleries all over the country. Along the way, we have done innumerable one-off projects involving glazes, faux finishes, and restoration of antique objects. Our crews have worked on RH galleries in over thirty cities in the USA and Canada.
